We exclude non-20-over allocations, modified result methods such as DLS, no-results, missing regulation innings, revised chase targets and incomplete first innings. A first innings that exhausts its available batters remains eligible even when it uses fewer than 20 overs. Missing chase-target metadata is conservatively excluded.
The mean is total first-innings runs divided by eligible innings. The median is the middle score (or mean of the two middle scores). Scores include extras and recorded penalty runs. Super Overs do not enter the innings totals.
Chasing results
Chase wins count eligible standard matches won by the second batting team. The denominator is eligible matches with a regulation winner. Ties, no-results, Super Over-decided ties and modified results are excluded from this denominator. The result archive still lists excluded matches.
Venue names and comparisons
Known alternate source labels are explicitly mapped to one ground. A new, unmapped venue stops the build for review. Opponents, teams, surface preparation, weather and match stage vary; these descriptive statistics do not isolate a venue’s causal effect or predict a winner.
Updates and corrections
Refreshes are reviewed releases, not an automated live feed. The date range and snapshot identity change only when the source data changes. Report an issue with a match ID and source.
